Kepler Bradley, Josh Head and Chris Mayne have been named in the preliminary squad of 29 to face Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the second round of the NAB Cup.

The trio were rested from last Sunday’s 44 point win over West Coast and will play their first game for Fremantle in Australia after making their first appearance in the purple and white against Carlton in Pretoria, South Africa earlier in the month.

Paul Hasleby and Chris Tarrant are the only omissions from last Sunday’s line up.

Paul injured his left knee and was stretchered from Subiaco Oval 10 minutes into the third quarter of Sunday night's win over West Coast. Chasing a loose ball on Fremantle's forward flank, Paul fell awkwardly between two Eagle opponents and appeared to realise quickly he had seriously injured his knee. Scans later showed he had injured his anterior cruciate ligament, which was operated on Tuesday morning, ruling him out for the season.

After playing in both the South African exhibition game and last weekend’s match, Chris will be rested in line with Senior Coach Mark Harvey’s directive for players who played in both matches to be at the top of the list to be rested. At some point during the pre-season competition most players who played in the South African fixture will be rested for at least one match to ensure they are fully revitalised and prepared for the season proper.

The squad will be trimmed to 27 following this afternoon’s training session, allowing the team to travel to Adelaide with one emergency.
