The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club started its 15th anniversary season with a thrilling come from behind victory over the Louisville Kings last Saturday by a score of 90-76 at Seneca Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville started off strong and accurate, kicking four goals to Cincinnati's two, thanks in part to Louisville's athleticism, experience, and some lackluster performance from the Cincinnati Dockers' forward line.

At the quarter break, Louisville had a 26-15 lead. During the break, head coach Kyle Strenski got on the case of his side's forwards, and they responded in the second quarter, kicking five goals to Louisville's three. This surge was enough to give the Cinci Dockers a narrow lead, 49-47, going into half-time.

Rain clouds appeared as the third quarter began, and just eight minutes into the period, the game was delayed for approximately 20 minutes due to lightning.

After the delay, the Cinci Dockers had still not found their kicking boots, booting an inaccurate 1.5 for the quarter. Louisivlle answered back with a three goal term which allowed them to retake the lead 68-60 going into the final quarter.

In the final period, the Cincinnati Dockers unleashed an offensive attack, kicking four goals and six behinds. Their defense stepped up as well, only allowing Louisville one goal for the quarter.

The team effort wrapped up an exciting comeback victory for Cincinnati.

Final score: Cincinnati Dockers 12.18 (90) defeated Louisville Kings11.10 (76).

The Cincinnati Dockers now have a month to prepare for their next series of matches in a tournament in Madison, Wisconsin on 11 June.
