Fremantle will unveil rookie key forward Matt Taberner in Sunday’s game against North Melbourne at Patersons Stadium.

The 20-year-old was named in the final 22 along with classy forward Michael Walters, who returns after an injury-enforced stint on the sidelines.

Alex Silvagni and Hayden Crozier were the players to make way.

The pair have been named as emergencies along with Tom Sheridan.

Taberner was selected with pick 11 in the 2012 Rookie Draft.

He was elevated onto the senior list on 23 May after solid form for Peel Thunder at WAFL level.

General manager of football Chris Bond said in ‘The Freo Line-Up’ on Thursday that Taberner had impressed the club’s coaching staff this season.

“Matt’s got a really high work rate and we’ve been very happy with his form,” Bond said.

Walters was injured in the round 8 draw with Sydney at the SCG but returns to take his place in attack, where he had been among the best small forwards in the AFL this season.
