Fremantle flew 23 players to Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon for the game against Hawthorn at the MCG on Friday night.

Notable passengers on the Virgin Australia jet who didn’t play in round 2 were Garrick Ibbotson, Lachie Neale, Zac Clarke, Hayden Crozier and Clancee Pearce.

The forced outs this week were the suspended Nat Fyfe and Zac Dawson, and Michael Barlow, who is injured.

Michael Johnson, who didn’t train on Wednesday morning, was not on the flight.

However, senior coach Ross Lyon said the All Australian defender would fly on Thursday.

"Michael Johnson won't travel today because of a personal matter but will play on Friday."

Fremantle will select a final 22 and three emergencies at 3.25pm WST on Thursday afternoon.
