Peel Thunder’s recent form is great for the senior Fremantle side, according to ruckman Jack Hannath.

The Thunder is coming off two consecutive wins, with a core group of Fremantle-listed players taking part in both victories against East Fremantle and Perth in the WAFL.

Hannath said the team dynamic had lifted as everyone wants to put their hand up to get an opportunity for Freo in the AFL.

“You really need the guys underneath to be putting pressure on the blokes to really have them performing week in, week out,” he said.

“I think at the moment, especially with the wins that we’ve had, we’ve really shown that a lot of guys are playing their role, playing well, and that puts pressure on for spots up top.

“We’ve seen guys like Tom Sheridan go up and keep other blokes out, so it’s really pleasing.”

The 23-year-old has been impressed by the likes of Fremantle draftees Lachie WellerConnor Blakely and Ed Langdon, who have seamlessly transitioned into Cam Shepherd’s Peel team.

“A lot of the young guys that have come in, the first-year guys that have come into the side, seem to really have adapted well to the game plan,” Hannath said.

“We seem to be playing some good footy and I think that’s shown with getting good results and getting the wins.

“Despite losing round 1, we’ve been pretty strong throughout the last two rounds even though we were patchy on the weekend.”

Hannath had another strong performance against Perth with 17 disposals and two goals.

“You’re always happy when you get a couple of goals and you play alright,” he said.

“I think it’s testament to the rest of the group as well, there’s a lot of strong performances.”
