Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow said his side’s nail-biting 13-point win over the Bulldogs was a good learning experience.

Freo prevailed but scores were level with just a few minutes remaining in the game.

Barlow said it was important to be able to win those kinds of tight games.

“As a collective we saw it as a really good challenge,” he said.

Freo hold off brave Dogs.

“We haven’t been in that tight a situation all year and we responded really well.

“We’re going to get in situations like that going forward and to have executed really well today is pleasing.”

Fyfe pleased with hard-fought victory.

Barlow said he was pleased with the side’s undefeated start to the year, after seven rounds, but there are still two thirds of the year to go.

“We sit pretty happy where we’re at but acknowledge it’s only seven rounds in,” he said.

“It’s a little bit of a way into a really long, hard and competitive season.”
