Fremantle skipper Matthew Pavlich has joined dozens of AFL figures in speaking out against homophobia in football.

The AFL Players Association has released a video featuring the likes of Pavlich, Nathan Buckley, Chris Judd and AFL chief executive Gillon MacLachlan.

The video calls for the footy community to stamp out homophobia, which has no place in society or football.

Pavlich is also the ALFPA president.

May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia and the AFL has thrown it support behind the #FOOTY4IDAHOT social media campaign.
