Fremantle defender Luke McPharlin was part of the club’s record nine-straight wins back in 2006 and after equalling the feat against Adelaide on Saturday, he said it didn’t happen by accident.

McPharlin believes the team’s preparation for 2015 has set up the dream unbeaten start.

“It’s a good feeling, it’s always nice to be winning,” he said.

“We know it’s not by accident, we’ve done a lot of hard work to get to this stage and we’re certainly not going to let up now.”

Freo was constantly challenged against the Crows on Saturday night, but McPharlin believes it was his club’s resilience that got them over the line.

“I think it’s the team that goes the longest,” he said.

“In the last quarter we had 20 inside 50s to their five, so that was probably the difference in the end.

“We were able to just hang in a bit longer than they did.”

Freo take it to the clearance kings

The next challenge will be an in-form Richmond at Domain Stadium as Freo aims for an incredible 10-0 start to the season.

“Friday night against Richmond is always a big game,” he said.

“We’ll have to recover very quickly and go through our routine for the week to get up for the game.”

Freo hosts Richmond on Friday 5 June at Domain Stadium.

Bounce down is at 6.10pm.
