Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow wants the side to regain its first quarter prowess from earlier this season against Brisbane on Sunday.

The side has averaged just 2.75 goals in its past four first-quarters and won just two of those opening terms.

In the first eight rounds of the year, Fremantle lost just one first quarter and averaged 4.6 goals.

Barlow told 6PR on Thursday that the team wanted to redisover its first-quarter form against the Lions.

“Our first quarters have been one of our strengths all year,” he said.

“We’d like to get back to playing that way.”

Barlow said despite Sunday’s match being 1st versus 17th on the ladder, there was no room for complacency.

“We won’t be seduced by Brisbane’s ladder position or how they’re travelling,” he said.

“We haven’t played to our potential over the last three or four weeks.

“We’ve only just scraped over the line.”

Fremantle play Brisbane at Domain Stadium on Sunday 5 July. Bounce down is at  2.40pm.
