Fremantle forward Michael Walters says his recent good form in front of goal is down to the hard work of his teammates.

Walters has booted 18 goals in the past six games and is leading Fremantle’s goal kicking this season with 26 majors.

He booted four goals in difficult conditions in Freo’s 36-point win over Brisbane at Domain Stadium on Sunday but said he was just finishing off the good work of the other forwards and midfielders.

“There are boys in the midfield who have to win the ball to get it to us in the forward line,” he said.

“I’m just happy to play each week and hopefully play my role.”

Walters said the pressure from the other forwards and their ability to bring the ball to ground for him to crumb was reaping rewards.

“Ballas (Hayden Ballantyne), Pav (Matthew Pavlich) and Mayney (Chris Mayne) are fierce tacklers and without them there is no chance I’d be kicking goals,” he said.
