AFL Hall of Fame member and former club captain Peter Bell is set to be elected unopposed to the board of the Fremantle Dockers.

Bell was the only nomination for a two-year term as the member-elected director when nominations closed at midday on Tuesday 13 October 2015.

As such, a formal ballot is not required.

The Fremantle board is in the process of ratifying his appointment, which will commence on 1 December, 2015.

The former club captain and Doig Medallist is an also an ambassador for the Fremantle Dockers Foundation.

A dual premiership player with North Melbourne, Bell played 163 games for Fremantle and 123 games for the Kangaroos.

Bell will replace current member-elected director Ben Allan, whose two-year term expires on 30 November, 2015.

This was Allan’s final term as a member-elected director, having served the maximum term allowable under the club’s constitution.
