Lachie Neale has come off a career-best season but the 22-year-old says he still has plenty of improvement to come.

Neale was named for the first time in the 40-man All Australian and AFL Players’ Association 22under22 after a stunning 2015 season.

In 2015, he averaged 27.5 disposals per game and set a personal best of 42 disposals against West Coast in round three.

Neale also set personal bests in kicks (23), marks (10), tackles (8), goals (3) and AFL Fantasy points (162) last season.

The South Australian product joined the first to four-year players for the first official day of pre-season training on Monday and looked to be in top physical shape.

In an exciting proposition for Freo fans, Neale said could get better.

“I’m 22, I still feel like I’ve got a lot of development and improvement left in me,” he said.

“I’ll be looking to improve over the next few months and during the season.

“There is still so much work I can do on my game, I’m really excited by this pre-season.

Neale said his immediate focus was continuing to build his base fitness level and upper body strength.
