Passionate Freo fan and volunteer Daryl Mansfield says he’s “over the moon” with the surprise he received from Tourism Northern Tasmania, an all-expenses paid trip to see his beloved Freo face Hawthorn in Tasmania in round eight.

Mansfield has been a stalwart of the Fremantle Dockers community, contributing his time as a volunteer for the better part of a decade and a half.

“I’ve had an association with Fremantle for about 15 years,” Mansfield said.

“I used to chair the Primary School Football Advisory Committee for about 12 years.

“Over a period of time I was invited to assist them in different capacities, programs running through schools, game day announcing, and now I help with the community football development program.”

The Fremantle Dockers are extremely appreciative of Daryl’s constant support and volunteer work and were only too happy to deliver the news to him that he will get to enjoy the sights of North Tasmania on the trip.

Mansfield said he was thrilled to have the opportunity and couldn’t wait to see the team and enjoy all that Launceston had to offer.

“It’s unbelievable, my wife and I are really excited to be given the invitation to go to a place like Tasmania to support Freo,” he said.

“What a beautiful part of the world.

“Launceston has many beautiful spots and a number of options, heritage sights and possibly a president’s lunch too.

“We feel like we’ve won the lotto to be honest.”

Stay tuned to Docker TV over the round 8 weekend to be part of Daryl’s Northern Tasmania adventure.
