Despite the loss to a powerful Adelaide Crows outfit at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, Fremantle's motivation remains high.

Ross Lyon told Channel Seven News on Tuesday that the “real spirit was there within the group.”

“The first half was full of vigour and improvement,” Lyon said.

“We just fell away a little bit but fought on at the end.”

While it was Fremantle’s sixth loss for the season, Lyon isn’t fazed with the pressure put on him and the playing group.

“Out of this adversity, clearly young players get an opportunity, and clearly expectation has diminished on us and we get an opportunity to really improve our football with low expectations,” he said

“Although we’d prefer expectation and winning.

“A few young players continue to get opportunities and we just want to improve our football.

“We’ve been competitive against some really good teams, we’re just not hard enough for long enough, or not consistently executing for long enough. So they’re the things we’re working on.”

Fremantle are set to take on the Greater Western Sydney Giants at Domain Stadium this Saturday evening.
