Fremantle training at The Victor George Kailis Oval was a family affair on Tuesday morning when the club invited the families of players and coaches to have morning tea and watch the session.

The Anzac Day public holiday provided an opportunity for player’ parents, partners and children to visit the club’s new facility at Cockburn Central.

Ahead of his 100th game this weekend, Michael Walters’ parents Martha and Mick, wife Marnie and two daughters Laila and Addison were amongst the family members who came along.

Lee Spurr’s wife Olivia and their five-month-old daughter Isla enjoyed the sunshine, while Sloane and Billie Sandilands were having a great time watching their dad as he prepares for his 250th game.

Aaron Sandilands came in quite handy when a tennis ball landed on the roof, with an eager group of on-lookers the ruckman managed to get the ball, and the fun continued.

Michael Walters, Cam McCarthy and Michael Johnson trained separately from the main group, while Lachie Neale finished his session with a stint in the gym.

In positive signs for Michael Apeness, the forward trained with the main group after recovering from a knee injury.

The team will train again on Thursday morning ahead of Saturday’s Carlton Draught Derby at Domain Stadium.
