Although his debut game didn’t go according the plan, Brennan Cox was still feeling positive after playing in Freo’s loss to Brisbane.

The Freo youngster played his first AFL game at the Gabba and was fortunate enough to have his family fly in from three different states to be able to watch him.

Cox’s mum, dad and sister live in Adelaide he also has a brother each in Brisbane, Melbourne and Darwin.

“It was unfortunate not to get the win, but it was an unreal experience,” Cox said.

“Dad was pleased with how I went, mum was happy. I think my family were just stoked I played an AFL game."

The 18-year-old played forward for the game and said the advice from the other forwards helped him throughout the game

“The speed of the game is just at another level and I suppose I am still learning my role playing forward,” Cox said.

“But talking to the boys out on the field really helped me and they got me into the right positions throughout the game.”
