Fremantle recruit Tom North thanked captain Nat Fyfe for the opportunity to play in the AFLX competition on Thursday in Adelaide.

North stepped into Fremantle’s AFLX side after Fyfe was withdrawn, he said it was a great experience so early in his career.

“I got an opportunity so that was awesome,” North said.

“I thanked Fyfe when he pulled out, I was like thanks for the spot.”

North said his first experience representing Fremantle was “great fun”.

“[It was] really fast pace but it was great to get out there with the boys and it was great fun,” North said.

The midfielder also praised the senior boys on the team, describing it as a good opportunity to learn from them.

“[It was good] to see how professional the senior boys are about it and I’m definitely learning of them,” North said.

“Sonny (Michael Walters), Bradley Hill, those boys have done quite a bit, [they are] so professional about how they do their recoveries and all that.”
