Bradley Hill will miss Saturday’s Starlight Purple Haze clash with Gold Coast on Saturday at Optus Stadium due to a minor knee injury sustained against Essendon.

Hill went down in the final quarter against the Bombers on Saturday night but was able to jog off the ground unassisted and returned late in the contest.

High performance manager Jason Weber was hopeful that with a week’s rest, Hill would recover in time for Freo’s round four trip to Canberra to face GWS.

“Bradley was caught in a really awkward tackle position, it did some minor damage to his knee,” Weber said.

“It’s being investigated and at this stage, he’ll be having this week off but we have good hopes for him returning quickly.”

Forward Hugh Dixon sustained an ankle injury in the Good Friday clash between Peel and East Fremantle at Rushton Park.

“Hugh had a nasty incident, a high ankle sprain and quite significant,” Weber said.

“At this stage, we’re continuing medical investigations but we’re hopeful that there’ll be no surgery required and we look forward to seeing him back in rehab very soon.”

Similar to Dixon, there was no return date set for defender Griffin Logue.

Senior coach Ross Lyon said on Friday that Logue was battling a congenital issue with a metatarsal

“Griffin’s progressing quite slowly,” Weber said.

“He has got an issue with his foot that Ross explained. At this stage, we’re looking forward to getting him running, hopefully, by the end of this week.”

Weber gave a positive update on Lee Spurr and young midfielder Stefan Giro, who have both commenced running on their road back from knee injuries.

Spurr and Giro are listed to return within two to four weeks.

“Lee and Stefan have both progressed to running,” Weber said.

“Stefan was out on the field today running at a really good trot and we hope to see him back to football soon. Spurr equally is up and going and is certainly making progress.”

Both Tom North and Cam Sutcliffe are listed as tests for this weekend.

“Tom North sprained his ankle before the game on the weekend but he should be right to go,” Weber said.

“Cam’s still being investigated for concussion and we’ll see how he backs up later in the week.”
