Fyfe cleared by MRO

Fyfe's bump on Seb Ross in the third term. Nat Fyfe bumps Sebastian Ross during the Saturday night clash against the Saints.

Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe has been cleared following investigations of two separate incidents during Saturday’s clash with St Kilda at Optus Stadium.

Fyfe was investigated for kneeing St Kilda’s Jake Carlise in the second term, however match review officer Michael Christian deemed the action was “not careless” and “not unreasonable” in the circumstances.

The midfielder was also cleared for a bump that led to a clash of heads with Seb Ross in the third term.

The match review officer said that Fyfe executed the bump with contact to the body and he could not have “reasonably foreseen the clash of heads between the players”.

Fyfe’s conduct was assessed as “not unreasonable” in the circumstances and no further action was taken.

As a result, Fyfe is free to face Sydney on Saturday at the SCG.

In other incidents reviewed from the night, Bailey Banfield was fined for wrestling with St Kilda’s Jack Steven during the opening term.

Banfield can accept a $1000 fine with an early plea.
