Fremantle has opted for speed with two running midfielders coming in for Sunday’s clash with North Melbourne at Optus Stadium.

Stephen Hill is set to make his return from two weeks on the sidelines with a quad injury, returning to the Fremantle lineup for his 197th game at AFL level.

The experienced Danyle Pearce joins Hill in the team, with the pair set to provide Freo more run on the fast Optus Stadium surface.

Mitch Crowden and Ryan Nyhuis are Fremantle’s two omissions.

Crowden has played eight consecutive games since making his debut in round two, with senior coach Ross Lyon highlighting on Friday the need for the 19-year-old to recharge at Peel away from the high-pressure AFL environment.

“He’s just a bit fried,” Lyon said in Friday’s media conference.

“He’s still play at Peel where he can run around without that pressure of performing in front of 40,000 people.

Bouncedown at Optus Stadium is at 2.40pm.
