Fremantle could bring up to four players back from injury when taking on Collingwood at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

According to high performance manager Jason Weber, defender Joel Hamling, ruckman Aaron Sandilands, midfielder Stephen Hill and forward Sam Switkowski are all a chance to return from injury.

Hamling has missed the past three weeks due to a calf injury and returned to training on Tuesday.

Sandilands has played 11 games this season and was a late withdrawal in round 15 against Brisbane after injuring his calf in the warm-up.

Hill has been in and out of the Fremantle lineup with a quad injury and last played for Fremantle against West Coast in round 20.

“Aaron’s progressed quite well in the last couple of weeks from his calf injury,” Weber said.

“He’s done a little bit of work this week so he’ll be a test come Thursday.”

“Joel’s done really well with the small strain in his calf. He trained with the team today so he’ll be up and about by Thursday with the group and, hopefully, available for match committee.

“Stephen progressed against his KPIs on Tuesday morning and we’ll be looking to reassess him again at team training on Thursday.”

Switkowski missed Freo’s clash with Geelong after making his debut against Carlton in round 21.

Weber said that the 21-year-old has been impacted by having a restricted pre-season.

“He’s a very young guy who came into the club with a couple of injuries, so he had a very limited pre-season,” Weber said.

“He did a great job in his debut game, unfortunately he got a small nick in his calf but he’s up and training with the group today and we expect him to be available.”

Weber said that Harley Bennell remains a chance to return if Peel quality for the WAFL finals despite the midfielder’s ongoing calf issues.

“Harley came off in the second half playing for Peel and had his calf assessed,” Weber said.

“He will re-enter the rehabilitation phase and remains a chance to return should Peel make the finals.”

Weber gave Nat Fyfe the all clear after the Fremantle captain made his return from injury against the Cats.

“Nat’s pulled up really well,” Weber said.

“It was a challenging week across the board but physically, he’s doing a great job.”
