2017 SUMMARY
The speedy young defender locked down a spot in Freo’s starting 22 after breaking into the side for Freo’s round three win over the Western Bulldogs. Played 18 games in 2018, highlighted by his 30 disposals and 14 marks against St Kilda in round 15. After round 17, the AFL released GPS data that showed Hughes was the fastest player in the AFL in that round, clocked at 35.6km/h.
