SUMMARY
Suban has returned bigger and stronger after a long 2016, which saw the midfielder play 15 AFL games on top of nine WAFL appearances for Peel. He has impressed on the track in the pre-season, both in his workload and vocal encouragement of the playing group.

WHAT THE COACH SAYS (Simon Eastaugh)
Nick’s versatility and ability to play different positions has been a feature. He has continued to be available session in and session out and hasn’t missed a beat.

Season by Season

Season by Season

Increased his average contested possession, disposal efficiency and tackles against his 2015 numbers. Played nine games for Peel, including all finals in their Premiership season.

Suban had a strong season in 2015, playing in 24 games. His physical pressure on key opposition opponents was a highlight.

Suban had a solid year, playing 21 games. He was called upon to play in a number of roles and typically gave strong effort all season long. He has six years in the system behind him now and will look to continue improving in 2015.

The tough utility enjoyed his best season of AFL to date. His hardness and passion were key components of the midfield and defence.

Nick Suban had a yoyo of a season in 2012, making 14 appearances, which included the club’s two finals.

Many of his matches, including the finals, were as a substitute, which made it hard for him to gather enough momentum to stake a claim for a starting spot.

Highly courageous with a booming left-foot kick, Suban enters his fifth season in 2013 and will be desperate to show he belongs at AFL level.

A broken leg sustained in round 4 put the brakes on Suban’s season after he had made a promising start to the year. The youngster from Bacchus Marsh in Victoria had averaged almost 20 disposals per game through the first three weeks, which included an excellent performance off half back in the round 3 win over Adelaide at AAMI Stadium. Suban didn’t play again until round 18 and he struggled to recapture his early season form.  He finished in the top 10 at the club for disposal efficiency (76.7%), highlighting the excellent skills which Fremantle hopes will be prominent in 2012.

After playing all 22 games in his debut season in 2009, Suban found it tougher to stay on the park in 2010 due to a combination of injury and form. He still managed 16 games and some of his performances later in the year were exceptional, especially in games where Freo was down in personnel. The left-footer shapes as a future leader of the club.
