The tallest player in the AFL capped another wonderful season by winning his first best and fairest award and being named All-Australian for a second successive year. Has a genuine presence around the ground and won 659 hit-outs, the second most in the competition. With his improved ground play and marking skills, he poses enormous problems for opposition ruckmen, taking the most contested marks for the Dockers (26). Generally handballs when he wins possession, being third at the club with 208. In great news for Fremantle, Sandilands has extended his contract until the end of the 2013 season.
