In the latest installment of Chris Mayne’s self proclaimed “most popular show in the world”, ‘The Mayne Minutes’, Tasmanian recruit Jesse Crichton is put under the spotlight.
Crichton was selected by Fremantle with pick 48 in the 2009 AFL Draft after he represented Tasmania at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships for the past two years.
An AIS-AFL Academy Graduate, Crichton tells ‘The Mayne Minutes’ about his draft day experience and how he has handled moving West.
“I’m loving the weather and the beaches over here,” he says.
“I’d never really been interested in going to a beach in Tasmania, but over here it’s what I try to do on my day off.”
Crichton says being drafted into an AFL club with players of the calibre of Matthew Pavlich and Aaron Sandilands was a dream come true.
“It’s still a bit weird talking to them,” he said. “It’s different realising that I’m here now.”
Crichton also reveals to ‘The Mayne Minutes’ which senior player he will be lining up on in the club’s intra-club match on Saturday 13 February.
