Fremantle will play at Blundstone Arena for the first time with the AFL moving the Club’s round 23 clash against St Kilda to the Hobart Venue.
It will be the 22nd AFL venue the Club has played at in its 27-year history.
The clash was originally fixtured to be played at Marvel Stadium but has been moved due to the current lockdown in Melbourne.
Bouncedown for the match is at 12.15pm EST (10.15am WST).
The game will be a crucial one for Fremantle, who need to win and have other results go their way to make finals.
As well as beating the Saints, Freo need two losses from the other three teams vying for finals – GWS (against Carlton), Essendon (against Collingwood) and West Coast (against Brisbane).
AFL Executive General Manager Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said it was great to lock in Sunday’s match, the 198th fixtured game of the season.
“Round 23 shapes up to be a fitting conclusion to a compelling and competitive season of football,” Mr Auld said.
“As various governments and communities continue to manage the challenges of the pandemic, it is great to once again to play a game in front of crowds in Hobart.
“The home and away season has been a challenge for all, I would like to thank our fixturing team, led by Marcus King, the 18 clubs, players and the AFLPA, coaches, umpires, officials, broadcasters, venues, corporate partners, and all state and territory governments, who have all once again worked with us to navigate the challenges that have been thrown up, and in doing so supported the continuity of matches for the fans, each and every week.
