The Sport, Business & Leadership Program offers students access to an elite sporting environment, whilst completing a dual Diploma in sport and business giving students the opportunity to study in a practical hands-on learning environment, and gain real experience working alongside industry experts, coaches and elite athletes at the Fremantle Dockers.

Students will also get to study a curriculum linked to the sports industry, complete a practical placement, run major projects, and participate in football high performance activities, designed to further develop their skills and experience.

Speaking with Current Student Keira, she was full of compliments for her experience with the program;

“I have been given a lot of opportunities in the three months I’ve been here, from game day volunteering to being awarded a leadership role in the classroom and making so many friendships and connections within the workplace.

“I ran clinics within schools and have had the opportunity to work on conducting a major project for those who may not get access to things like this usually.

"My favourite part of the program so far has been the opportunities I have been given, the friendships I have made and the connections I know are possible."

23 year old Jordan joined the program wanting a change after five years doing Carpentry, following his passion for sport.

He spoke about what he’s enjoying about his return to education;

“The balance between practical and theory has probably been the best part of the program so far. As well as the many different opportunities offered, such as volunteering or part time paid work.

“Meeting representatives from the football club who come in and speak about their roles at the club has also been a highlight."

On successful completion the program allows students to access pathways into over 40 higher education courses nationally, the vast majority with credits or advanced standing.

The program is a collaboration between the Fremantle Dockers, the Purple Hands Foundation and SEDA Group (SEDA).
