Hayden Crozier has replaced Michael Walters in Fremantle’s final 22 to play Melbourne in Indigenous Round on Sunday.

The young forward was a late withdrawal from the team that drew with Sydney last weekend.

Walters is out for three to four weeks after he injured his ankle in the game against the Swans.

The emergencies for the game will be three young players who have yet to play an AFL game, Viv Michie, Matt Taberner and Josh Simpson.

Senior coach Ross Lyon said Simpson had a bright future at Freo if he applied himself.

“We see Josh as a 10-year player at this footy club, as long as he does the work,” he said.

“He’s an excitement machine, a quick and skilful, electric small forward and wingman.”

Lyon said Taberner had come to the fore quickly since having his pre-season compromised by glandular fever.

“Matt’s a key forward who has been playing really well in the WAFL,” he said.

“He’s an impressive young fella who trains real hard and runs all day.”

Stress fractures in Michie’s right foot early in both the 2011 and 2012 seasons robbed him of an opportunity to make his name in the game, but he has been in very strong form at WAFL level this season.
