Cam Sutcliffe (EF) 19 disposals (10 kicks, 9 handballs) 6 marks
Cam went up to Kununurra last weekend and played as an inside mid and wing throughout the first half and mainly on the wing in the second half. He provided positive rebound and an outlet option and used the ball really well getting involved in chains with some clean hands. Overall the positives were his ball use and his ability to get the ball inside the forward 50.

Alex Silvagni (C) 17 disposals (15 kicks, 2 handballs) 5 marks
Alex played in defence and his game was typified by a hard-edged performance that helped Claremont across the line. He defended courageously when required and didn’t have any goals kicked against him. He was aggressive with his spoiling and showed strong leadership on field through organising structure, and he was a steadying influence under heat.

Alex Forster (PT) 9 disposals (5 kicks, 4 handballs) 4 marks
Alex played as a defensive forward for three quarters and went into defence in the final quarter. He didn’t have a great influence on the game but did move around early and tried to apply pressure. As a forward he needs to learn how to get separation from his opponent. Alex will focus on getting back to how he was playing several weeks ago.

Tanner Smith (PT) 17 disposals (13 kicks, 4 handballs) 10 marks
Tanner played key back against Scott Lycett and defended well under pressure. He looked composed with the ball and played the percentages. He demonstrated some strong spoils as a third up in the air. He showed more composure with his use and, overall, it was a solid effort for Tanner in a team that was well beaten.

Peter Faulks (PT) 25 disposals (18 kicks, 7 handballs) 11 marks

Peter played in defence in only his sixth game for the year. After not playing for five weeks he had his best performance for the season. He beat his opponents and played with enthusiasm and bounce. He demonstrated really good effort. We were very pleased with his body language and his positioning as well as his offensive run. Peter will look at building on that this week against East Perth. It was a very pleasing game for somebody who has been working solidly in the rehab program for a period of time.

Jesse Crichton (PT) 27 disposals (15 kicks, 12 handballs) 13 marks
Jesse played half-back with a short stint as a midfielder in the fourth quarter. He positioned well at stoppages and always looked to set up teammates. He managed to get a fair bit of the ball but we are just looking for him to penetrate more with his disposals. For a couple of weeks now he has showed good defensive positioning and has been playing with good intensity.

Haiden Schloithe (SF) 13 disposals (6 kicks, 7 handballs) 3 marks, 1 goal
Haiden played a mixture of mid and forward and he started quite well without much reward. The positives of Haiden’s game were that he managed to work hard to get front position at stoppages, he stayed close in congestion and showed some good leading patterns. This was Haiden’s first game in five weeks so we are looking at him building his game through hard run and effort.

Josh Mellington (WP) 21 disposals (17 kicks, 4 handballs) 3 marks, 1 goal
Josh played as an inside mid and forward for the game. He looked dangerous when he went forward, kicking 1.2 and missing a couple of running goals. He demonstrated good physicality and will continue to increase his work rate in the weeks to come.

Lachie Neale (SD) 28 disposals (14 kicks, 14 handballs) 4 marks, 2 goals

Lachie was impressive in the first quarter where he worked up the ground as a high forward in and around the stoppages. He won a lot of clearances and spread really hard offensively, kicking two goals. He also got up the ground to give options as an outlet. Lachie had a strong impact on the game, particularly his impressive first quarter effort.

Alex Howson (EF) Reserves 10 disposals (8 kicks, 2 handballs) 6 mark, 5 goals
It was a really positive step for Alex Howson where he looked sharp on the transition. His focus has been on his physicality and he had four strong tackles for the game and finished with five goals.  He really showed an effort to chase and tackle out of forward 50 and, again, we will look at building this consistency over four quarters.

Josh Simpson (EF) Reserves 8 disposals (4 kicks, 4 handballs) 1 mark
Josh played on the wing and as a high forward. We were happy with his run as he spread hard from stoppages and worked reasonably hard on defensive transition with his chase. Josh needs to continue on getting himself more involved in the game and return to the good form that he had several weeks ago.
