Senior coach Ross Lyon is adamant that Fremantle will not add tall players to the team to match Geelong’s height in the Friday night clash against the Cats.

“We’ve got two tall defenders who can go there, and Mayne can go down back,” Lyon said.

“It’s a big ground for three talls.

“We’re not in a huge position to do it.

“We’ll probably just stick with the two."

Match preview v Geelong

In round 16, the Geelong 22 had an average height of just under 191cm, while Fremantle had an average height of 186cm.

Zac Clarke pushed for a return to the senior side, with a strong performance for Peel Thunder in their 44-point loss to West Perth on Saturday. He finished the game with 16 disposals, four tackles, three marks and 59 hit-outs, although Lyon stated it may not be enough to break into the starting 22.

“He had plenty of hit-outs and it was a tough day,” Lyon said

“We’ll look at the team balance.

“We like the one ruckman model.”
