Fremantle have received a significant boost for the 2019 NAB AFL Women's season with midfielder Dana Hooker committing to the club.

The inaugural fairest and best winner previously advised the club of her desire to explore options for a move to Victoria and has decided to stay in WA.

"While I did explore some options Fremantle is really where I want to be," Hooker said.

"Now that it is all finalised I'm really looking forward to playing with the girls again next season."

In 2018, Hooker was named All Australian and finished second in the fairest and best, behind Ebony Antonio.

She also placed tied for second at the 2018 W Awards, the highest finish by a Fremantle player.

Hooker joins 19 Fremantle teammates to commit for the 2019 season with Freo able to retain all available key players following the introduction of expansion clubs North Melbourne and Geelong into the competition.

AFLW manager Wade Spilcker was pleased to retain one of Freo's key midfielders.

"To have Dana on board is fantastic for the club as we look forward to building on our progress from the 2018 season into 2019," Spilcker said.

"Dana is a truly valued member of our team and the club's inaugural AFLW fairest and best winner.

"She will continue to play an integral role on and off the field as an important senior member of our team."
