In the lead up to Nat Fyfe’s 150th game, fremantlefc.com.au runs through seven of the best moments from Nat Fyfe’s career to date.

The debut
Ahead of the draft, Fyfe weighed in at 75kg – some 13kg lighter than his current playing weight - with worries about his ability one-on-one a possible reason behind him slipping to no.20 in the 2009 draft.
On debut, Fyfe did plenty to suggest that these concerns were misguided.
From his 13 possessions, seven were contested. He also took an impressive three contested marks.
One of those marks led to his first AFL goal, running back with the flight to outleap three Tigers defenders and teammate Matt de Boer.

The rising star nomination
It’s took only five games for Nat Fyfe to be noticed on the national stage, earning a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in round nine of the 2010 season.
Fyfe collected 23 disposals in Freo’s 37-point win against the Swans at the SCG, with 13 contested possessions, seven inside 50s and five tackles.

The 2013 prelim
The 2013 preliminary final against Sydney at Subiaco Oval is widely regarded as on of the best games in Fremantle’s history and it makes sense that Nat Fyfe would be at the centre of it.
Fyfe delivered an all-round performance with two goals, three contested marks and 15 contested possessions.
Just a couple of highlights from the game include Fyfe’s flying contested mark across the front of the pack in the second quarter and his running goal in the third term that put Freo up by 43 points and sent the Purple Army into a frenzy.

The coast-to-coast goal
In a rematch of the 2013 grand final, Fremantle faced a crucial clash against Hawthorn at Subiaco Oval to wrap up the 2014 home and away season.
The scores were tied at 50 points each in the second term with Fremantle kicking out from Hawthorn’s end. Following a Michael Walters delivery into open space on the wing, Fyfe tapped the ball in front of him along the boundary line and out-ran Will Langford to slot the goal on the run.

The burst tackle goal
It was a moment that showed Nat Fyfe had taken his game to another level.
In one of the toughest away trips in football against Geelong in round two of the 2015 season, Fyfe stunned everyone when he ran through four Geelong defenders with ease. His second-quarter snap put Freo up by 10-points in their eventual 44-point win.
Fyfe earned top votes for his three goal and 25 contested possession performance – opening his account with the first three of his eventual 31-vote tally in the 2015 Brownlow Medal count.

The Fyfe v Danger showdown
So memorable was this matchup, that Fox Footy still show numerous replays of it during their off-season broadcasts.
In soggy conditions at Adelaide Oval, senior coaches Ross Lyon and the late Phil Walsh let their star midfielders Fyfe and Patrick Dangerfield go head-to-head.
For the first time in Fyfe’s career, he cracked the 40-disposal barrier while collecting 26 contested possessions – a number that remains a career high.
Dangerfield racked up 38 touches and 29 contested possessions while both players kicked a goal.
On the night, Freo won their ninth straight game to open the season, while Fyfe took home the three Brownlow votes with Dangerfield getting two.

The speech
After becoming the first Fremantle player to win the Brownlow medal, Nat Fyfe gave an emotional speech.
“It’s greater than me it’s the Fremantle footy club and all our members and supporters,” Fyfe said.
“I think we can take this home and celebrate it as a club and a community.”
Fyfe described the time as a ‘whirlwind’, while nursing a broken leg and flying over to Melbourne for the ceremony following Fremantle’s loss in the 2015 preliminary final days earlier.
“Once you declare yourself fit to play you have an obligation to play your role,” Fyfe said about playing on with the injury.
“I’d live and die for the Dockers and I’d want to do anything to help them.”
Fyfe’s final thank-you was to his teammates while also making a joke with host Bruce McAvaney.
“To the playing group, this genuinely is a Fremantle footy club medal,” Fyfe said.
“Bruce you could probably win a Brownlow with Aaron Sandilands hitting it down your throat.”
