Fremantle captain Kara Donnellan is a late withdrawal from today’s match against Carlton at Ikon Park.

Versatile midfielder Katie-Jayne Grieve comes in to replace Donnellan and will play her fifth game of the season.

Donnellan has been managing knee soreness all season and senior coach Trent Cooper said she was given every chance to play, however the decision was made pre-game to withdraw the captain from the clash.

“Kara has been doing everything possible to be right for today’s game, but we had to make a decision based on what’s best for the team today,” Cooper said.

“If we win today’s game, we’ll be confident Kara will be right to go for next week.”
