Ruckman Sean Darcy and forward Sam Sturt will make their returns from injury when Fremantle take on Adelaide at Metricon Stadium on Sunday.

Darcy missed two games due to a minor knee injury while Sturt sat out last week’s clash with Gold Coast due to an ankle injury.

Nat Fyfe (hamstring) and Brandon Matera (omitted) are Freo’s outs.

Darcy took part in a scratch match for non-selected players last week after recovering from a knee injury sustained in round two.

His selection means Freo will go with three tall forwards in Jesse Hogan, Matt Taberner and Rory Lobb pitching in as a backup ruck.

Sturt starred in round one with three goals against Essendon, earning a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination, but his second AFL game in round three against Port Adelaide didn’t go as smoothly with only two disposals as well as picking up an ankle injury.

Senior coach Justin Longmuir opted not to bring in a midfield replacement for Fyfe, meaning young midfielders Andrew Brayshaw, Adam Cerra, Darcy Tucker and Caleb Serong are all likely to have increased responsibility in the engine room behind leaders David Mundy and versatile forward/midfielder Michael Walters.

Bailey Banfield, Taylin Duman, Connor Blakely and Matera are Fremantle’s emergencies.

Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is at 11.05am (WST), with the game broadcast nationally on Foxtel. The match will also be streamed live via Kayo and AFL Live Pass.

Due to the broadcast agreement, the clash will not be broadcast live on free to air, with a delayed broadcast commencing at 1.30pm (WST) on Channel 7.
