Things are heating up with four days left in Fremantle’s game-worn Indigenous jumper auction from Freo’s 31-point win against Sydney in round 13.

All funds raised from the auction go towards the club and helping keep their community programs running through the Covid-19 pandemic, including funding Fremantle’s Next Generation Academy, which aims to grow the game and identify and develop talented Indigenous footballers in the Kimberley.

The jumpers were beautifully designed by past player Antoni Grover, who played 202 games for Fremantle, and his sisters Nicole and Alicia King.

Currently, NGA product Liam Henry’s debutant jumper has the second highest bid at $900 as of Thursday morning, with the winning bidder to claim a piece of history from what promises to be an exciting career at Fremantle.

There are no surprises in All Australian Michael Walters leading the bidding at $950, with Walters voted by fans last week as the club’s greatest Indigenous player.

At $750, one fan leads the bidding for two-time Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe’s jumper from the game, with Fyfe once again playing an important role in the win with 12 contested possessions and six clearances.

Perhaps the bargain of the lot is Luke Ryan’s jumper at $500. Ryan was awarded the Goodes-O’Loughlin medal as the best on ground in the clash with 26 disposals and five marks as he puts together what is likely to be an All Australian season.

At $585, one fan leads the bidding for David Mundy’s jumper, who was outstanding in the clash and finished second in the Goodes-O’Loughlin voting.

Other jumpers of note include Stephen Hill ($530) and Nathan Wilson ($350) for fans who are looking to pick up an Indigenous jumper worn by one of Fremantle’s proud Indigenous players.

If you’re just looking at getting a piece of history from the game, Sean Darcy’s jumper is currently the lowest bid at $320, but we don’t expect it to stay that low for long!
