You started pretty well but also fell away?
Yeah it did thought we started the game really well, we wanted to execute a few things and we were doing all that. It has been a little bit the same against the better teams and whenever momentum goes against us we just don't handle those situations well and shot ourselves in the foot with a few bad turnovers in D 50 which lead to goals and then we just went a bit insular and got real safe and just bought pressure on ourself. It's really disappointing.

A couple of injuries obviously with Nat and Michael, how are they and how much of a blow was that?
To lose you Captain before halftime, it’s not ideal. That shoulder looks like it's the same injury he’s had this year and been playing with so we'll have to look at what we do now. The likelihood is he'll probably go into surgery I’d imagine, now he's had a re-injure of it. So his season might be done. Sonny's got a hamstring so we'll get it scanned and we're getting close to the end of the year now as well so he's going to cut it fine to get back this year.

With Nat’s shoulder injury, did you have any particular concerns coming into today's game with it?
Not really. We've felt like it's been improving, we felt like his confidence has been improving with it as well. Sometimes when you've got a weak shoulder that they can pop out in the same spot pretty easily again. I didn't see the incident itself but he's going to have to go and get it looked at now.

I guess you had to take a couple of calculated risks with Nat to some degree and also Sean Darcy who was hobbling around and had to spend a fair bit of time forward. Were they just the sort of risks you felt you needed to take when you’re still pushing for a final spot?
Yes, plus we've got injuries to areas of ground and not a lot of depth in certain roles. We've always wanted to play the three talls down forward and obviously, Rory Lobb got injured last week which didn't allow us to do that. We were always going to play Sean and Meek together this week and then Josh Treacy pulled out late, he got crook overnight, which threw another spanner in the works. I thought Sean competed pretty well, he must have had five or six shots on goal but just didn't finish his work off down forward and I thought he competed pretty hard in the ruck. I was happy with that risk. As far as Fyfe goes, he’s played with his shoulder in a very similar situation before a couple of years ago and has got through. Unfortunately, he didn't get through today. We don't feel like it's done any more damage to it but we need to get it fixed probably.

You’re still in the hunt for the top eight, what's the one thing you really need to address?
We need to be better when the opposition get on top. We played really good footy and should have been probably more in front at quarter time. I felt like we butchered a few opportunities which opened the door for them. Then when the pressure came on, we couldn't match their pressure and we couldn't buffer their pressure by owning the ball. In the first quarter we had over 30 marks, second quarter we had 13 marks and just kept on putting it back into chaos and it played right into their hands. We need to be able to hold up and understand when the opposition challenge, and there are ways that we can control that challenge and get the games back on our terms, but it just went on for way too long today.

It looks like Stephen Hill had a setback in the WAFL as well. What's the latest on him and what happened?
We haven't got a result back from his scan but it looks like he's re-injured a hamstring which is disappointing.

Alex Pearce seemed to spend a fair amount of time down in the rooms, how is he?
He got a head knock and then had to do the 20-minute protocol. The game situation just wasn't worth risking him and putting him back out there. I haven't caught up with the doctors to see what the actual injury is yet, I'm not sure whether it was a concussion or not but he definitely had the assessment and we weren't willing to risk him.

Luke Ryan obviously played at the match but he did receive a knock under the chin from Buddy's elbow and the second term, is he fine or any repercussions from that?
I think he's just got a sore jaw. I haven't spoken to him all the doctors about it, but I saw him checking out his jaw. We’ll see how he pulls up I suppose. I don't think there's anything too severe there.
