Stood tall, sharing ruck duties in Aaron Sandilands’ absence with occasional stints up forward. Played five regular season and three finals games as a part of Peel’s premiership side.
Solid WAFL form earned Griffin his spot in the Freo side in the second half of 2015. He played a key role in the ruck beside Aaron Sandilands and was a handy target inside-50.
Griffin only played one game in the AFL but the year was a success given he was on the comeback trail from a knee reconstruction. He performed strongly in the WAFL all season.
Was tremendous as lead ruckman until a knee injury ended his season in round 7. It was early in the year so he should be right to go for the start of 2014.
Jon Griffin played 13 games in 2012 to add to seven from the previous season. He filled in admirably for Aaron Sandilands between rounds 11-20, proving he is a quality ruckman in his own right.
He would have been disappointed to miss out on playing in Freo’s two finals when the coaching staff chose to go with the one main ruckman.

Jon Griffin had the biggest shoes in the AFL to fill when he came into the team to replace the injured Aaron Sandilands this season. The Adelaide recruit was impressive in his seven appearances, averaging 14 disposals and 27 hitouts per game. He put up midfielder-like numbers in round 15 against Gold Coast in his best performance of the year. Griffin also had the fifth best Dream Team average (89 per game) at Fremantle in 2011. Along with Zac Clarke, he will back up Aaron Sandilands in 2012 to help form arguably the best ruck brigade in Fremantle’s history.
