Jeremy Sharp said he couldn’t wait to get out and play in front of friends and family on Sunday as he makes his Club debut against Brisbane in round one.

“It's lots of different emotions right now, the team just got announced and I’ll be playing this weekend… I’m pretty excited,” Sharp told fremantlefc.com.au after the team meeting Thursday afternoon.

“I’m absolutely stoked. I can’t wait to see the Purple Army in full force on Sunday. It will be special.”

Sharp returned home to WA during the SSP selection period after spending three years on Gold Coast's list, playing 23 senior games for the side, and featuring in Gold Coast's VFL premiership last year.

The 22-year-old’s work rate up and down the wing during the preseason, combined with his kicking ability has been a highlight during the Club’s preseason games.

“I’ll be playing mainly on the wing, hopefully I can provide some run and dash for the boys and hopefully go up forward and kick a few as well,” Sharp said.

“I’d like to think so (on whether playing against Port Adelaide in preseason made him feel more comfortable in the team), but round one is a different game and playing in front of our fans at home is going to be super exciting, so yeah I can’t wait.”
