A determined Burnie Dockers gave no quarter as they out played Launceston to win the Tasmanian State League football Grand Final. In all areas of the game, Burnie controlled play, much as they have throughout this year's season.

A crowd of around 5000 witnessed a show of strength from Burnie Football Club, winning the TSL Grand Final for the first time.

The toss was performed by Glenorchy player Jaye Bowden, announced as this year's winner of the Tassie Medal.

After losing to Launceston in last year's grand final, Burnie seemed determined from the opening bounce, scoring the first goal, and leading by eight points at the end of the first quarter.

While play was sometimes scrappy, Burnie continued to win contested posessions, and by half time led by 35 points.

By midway through the third quarter, it was apparent there would be no come back from last years premiers, and Burnie took control of the game through co-captain Luke Shakleton through the midfield, Rohan Baldock up forward, and Jason Laycock consistently winning in the ruck contest.

The baldock Medal, for best on ground, was won by Jason Laycock.

For Burnie, Rohan Baldock scored four goals and Braden Hayes got three.

The final score was;

Burnie 3.5 8.9 12.11 16.14 110
Launceston 2.3 3.4 4.6 9.8 62

Congratulations to our partner club on their success.
