A select group of around 20 players trained in warm conditions at Fremantle Oval this morning.

The main session started with light skills, before breaking into a full-ground kicking drill.

The group which included Michael Barlow, Hayden Ballantyne and Aaron Sandilands, then split into teams of three and worked in the middle of the ground in a tight space, simulating match day congestion.

The session finished off with a running drill, with the players feeling the heat.

Clancee Pearce and Sam Menegola were relieved from track duties and were among the group of players sweating it out in the gym.

Ryan Crowley, David Mundy, Luke McPharlin, Jesse Crichton and Matthew Pavlich also trained separately before the main group’s session kicked off.

The first year players escaped the heat, completing a 3km time trial at McGillivray Oval earlier in the morning.
