Highlight – Fyfe’s round 18 performance against Adelaide was simply stunning. He amassed 29 disposals, nine marks and four goals in a showcase of his undoubted talent.

Summary – Another solid season from Freo’s budding midfield star. He was strong at ground level, but his aerial powers also returned this year following the shoulder injurythat had limited him in 2012.

Finals

Qualifying Final – 25 disposals, 5 tackles
Preliminary Final – 27 disposals, 2 goals
Grand Final – 28 disposals, 6 tackles

Summary – Fyfe was a brilliant performer in all three Freo finals, collecting 25 disposals or more in each game. Apart from some inaccuracy at goal early in the game, Fyfe was one of the best players in the Grand Final.

Outlook: The biggest knock on Fyfe has been his disposal efficiency, which was a very low 56.4 per cent in 2012. He lifted his rating to 63.6 per cent this season, but if Fyfe wants to be considered among the absolute elite midfielders in the game, he’ll need to keep improving his skills, particularly by foot. But given the way his game has ascended since his debut in 2010, expect the Lake Grace product to take another big step forward in 2014.
