Colin Sylvia and Scott Gumbleton will sport new numbers in 2014 when they wear a purple jumper for the first time.

Sylvia came to the club as an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2013 season.

The former Melbourne midfielder was taken at pick No. 3 in the 2003 National Draft and has kicked 129 goals in 157 games since making his debut for the Demons in 2004.

Sylvia who previously wore No. 12 while playing for Melbourne will now wear the No. 4 left vacant after Jayden Pitt retired at the end of season 2013.

Fremantle traded pick 55 in the 2013 National Draft to Essendon to acquire Gumbleton.

The key forward will wear the jumper No. 19.

Matt Taberner has taken jumper No. 20, previously worn by Viv Michie who was traded to Melbourne.

Taberner, who picked up in the 2012 Rookie Draft was promoted to the senior list in 2013.

The 197cm forward debuted in round 13 against North Melbourne and has played four games in his first AFL season.

2013 rookie Michael Wood will wear Taberner’s old jumper, No. 42.

New draftees Michael Apeness will wear No. 35, Alex Pearce has No. 25, while Brady Grey takes No.28.

2013 rookies Thomas Vandeleur will wear jumper No. 43 and  Jacob Ballard will wear jumper No. 44.
