Hayden Ballantyne has been cited by the AFL's Match Review Panel for two incidents in Saturday's game against Sydney at the SCG.

Ballantyne was charged with a level two offence (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) for striking Swan Rhyce Shaw during the second quarter, and a level one misconduct for kneeing (125 demerit points, one-match sanction) the same player, also in the second quarter.

He has no existing good or bad record and can accept a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points towards his future record for each of the two offences.

When a player has been charged with multiple offences during one match, the total of the two offences is added up. For each amount of 100 points in the total penalty, there must be one match served as a result.

If Ballantyne accepts both reprimands, he will miss Friday night's Len Hall game against North Melbourne at Patersons Stadium.

Fremantle has until 9am on Tuesday to decide if it will challenge either or both of the charges, or if it will accept any reprimands.
