Clancee Pearce can’t wait to join teammate Matt de Boer at the 2014 RSPCA WA Million Paws Walk.

The Freo duo are ambassadors for RSPCA WA, which is a 2014 Community Event Partner of the club.

The walk - on Sunday 18 May at Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth - is the association’s biggest fundraising event for the year raises funds and awareness to fight animal cruelty.

Clancee, who is a proud owner of Bernard, a French bulldog, and Bella, a long haired Chihuahua, said his dogs were as much a part of his family as anyone else.

“They both have very different personalities, Bernard is very lively and won’t leave you alone, but Bella is a little more reserved,” he said.

“Sometimes in the morning Bernard will cuddle up to our daughter Memphis, he’s always close to her.”

Clancee also introduced his partner’s father’s dog, Sasha, who is a stocky but friendly American bulldog,

“Whenever Sasha and Bernard are together you can never separate them, poor Bella thinks it’s all a bit too full on so she usually sticks to herself,” he said.

Registrations for the Million Paws Walk are now open, and Clancee encourages Freo fans who have four-legged friends to head along to the walk.

“I know we’ve got plenty of supporters who have dogs, so it would be great if they registered to be part of the walk,” he said.

“Matt and I are going to bring down some of the other guys who have dogs, so we’ll hopefully see a fair bit of purple down there.”
