He’s been in arguably the best form of his career, but don’t tell Nick Suban he’s now part of Freo’s best 21.

The hard-at-it midfielder kicked three goals against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday to continue a rich vein of form in 2014.

It was a different story in recent seasons, however, when Suban was not picked consistently for AFL.

When the 24-year-old was selected, he was often given the green substitute vest.

While Suban has been entrenched in the team this year, he won’t allow himself to get too comfortable.

“I never feel as if I’m in the best 21,” he said.

“For me it’s just all about training hard and preparing well and making sure that I do the little things well.

“If I train well and prepare well, then it’ll hopefully turn around in games.”

“It’s been consistent probably over the past month, which has been good. I’ve just got to keep training hard and preparing.”

Suban will play his 100th AFL game in Saturday’s match against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

While he was aware it was a milestone, thanks to his parents, he does not want any special attention.

“Like all the other boys says when they play milestone games, it’s just another game,” Suban said.

“You don’t really think about it, you just want to get out there and play.”
