Freo will be bolstered by the return of three superstars for Thursday night’s clash with Carlton at Patersons Stadium.

Senior coach Ross Lyon has already flagged up to six possible changes for the game against the Blues after the side’s poor effort against St Kilda in round 18.

Ruck champion and tallest player in the league Aaron Sandilands will resume after sitting out the loss to St Kilda with a sore back.

Hayden Ballantyne is a definite starter after serving his one-match ban. He’ll look to continue his red-hot form up forward this season.

Stephen Hill, another player in great touch in 2014, is also available for selection, while All Australian defender Luke McPharlin looks likely to be available, provided he trains this week.

Garrick Ibbotson should have recovered from injury and will also push hard to return, but Michael Walters is no chance of playing on Thursday.

The run home

There’s plenty of knocking on the selection door coming from Peel Thunder, as well. Hayden Crozier and Tommy Sheridan were strong in Peel’s most recent game, while Max Duffy, Michael Apeness and Jack Hannath are among those awaiting an opportunity.

Rookie Sam Menegola can also come under consideration after he was upgraded onto the senior list recently as a replacement for Brady Grey, whose season is over.

Menegola was the travelling emergency for Freo’s game against St Kilda in round 18.

Freo will be wearing its white away strip this Thursday and all fans are asked to ‘Wear White on the Night’, too. There’s plenty of prizes up for grabs thanks to proud co-major sponsor Programmed.
