Fremantle coach Ross Lyon believes Anthony Morabito could play a variety of positions when he returns to the senior line-up.

Morabito has played three games for Fremantle since his three successive knee reconstructions and has played the past two matches with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.

Wait over for Morabito

Lyon told 6PR on Monday night that the youngster has plenty of potential once he gets a full pre-season under his belt again.

"I think he can play anywhere; mid, forward...he's a wonderful size and shape," Lyon said.

"I'd like to put on the record that it's been freakish what Anthony's done (coming back from injury).

"The level of form that he's found in 14 games of WAFL and a couple of AFL, it's freakish."

Lyon believes the 22-year old can return to the Freo line-up before the end of the season and holds him in high regard.

"We really rate him, respect him and love him at our club," he said.

"We know he'll hopefully get another opportunity this year.

"If he gets a full summer (of pre-season) he can play anywhere.

"He's got a massive future with us."
