Fremantle Dockers principal physiotherapist Dr Jeffrey Boyle has called on all his 20 years of experience in an incident from Sunday’s game worthy of ‘The Golden Fist Award’.

As ‘Boyley’ was busily working on Matt Taberner’s legs on the sidelines, a marking contest was taking place right in front of him on the wing.

Hawks’ defender Brian Lake smashed the footy towards the boundary line with great force.

Television footage captures the ball hurtling directly for a young trainer working alongside Boyle, but the Freo physio nonchalantly thrust out his fist to dismiss the Sherrin as if it was unworthy of his time.

He continued working on Taberner as if nothing had happened.

Members in the front row who witnessed the incident gave 'Boyley' a well-deserved applause.

Well done ‘Boyley’.
