Michael Walters pulled up sore after Sunday’s game against Hawthorn, but Freo sports science manager Jason Weber is still happy with ‘Son Son’s’ return.

Walters injured his ankle in the round 3 clash against the Hawks and returned in Freo’s win over the 2013 premiers.

“He’s pretty sore but his output was fantastic,” Weber said.

“He had an awesome return from his injury and hopefully we can look forward to him doing bigger and better things in the coming weeks.”

Michael Barlow injured his thumb late in the game against the Hawks. Barlow played out the game, gathering 31 disposals and kicking a goal.

“He looks set to miss the last two of the home and away games,” Weber said.

Tendai Mzungu returned from injury to play for Fremantle while Garrick Ibbotson and Clancee Pearce lined up for Peel Thunder.

“All three did really well, there are no concerns post any of the games and we’ll look forward to having them available for match committee later in the week,” Weber said.

Weber also added Luke McPharlin was tracking well with his rehab program after sustaining a calf injury in the round 20 match against Geelong.

“Luke’s up and going he trained off his feet today, he did a fantastic session,” he said.

“We are really confident his commitment to the program will get him back to where he needs to be.”
