Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands, Nat Fyfe and Hayden Ballantyne have been included in the 40-man squad from which the 2014 Virgin All Australian team will be named.

The Freo trio have enjoyed brilliant seasons.

Sandilands, who is a three-time All Australian, had the most hitouts and hitouts-to-advantage in the AFL.

Ballantyne booted a career-best 49 goals in the home-and-away season, while Fyfe has been one of the AFL’s most dominant midfielders.

There were 26 players who have not previously received the honour named in the 40-man squad released on Tuesday afternoon.

Only six players from the 2013 team were named for potential back-to-back selections  – Gary Ablett, Travis Boak, Scott Pendlebury, Jarryd Roughead, Joel Selwood and Harry Taylor.

Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans are the most represented clubs in this year's 40-man All-Australian squad, with each providing five players to the preliminary group named on Tuesday afternoon.

Geelong and Adelaide each had four players nominated, with Melbourne the only club not represented.
